Women’s Crisis and Family Outreach Center
PAST FEATURES:
As a leading regional provider of unique commercial furnishings, Source Four has long made giving back to our communities a priority in our business.
This summer, Source Four devoted our charitable efforts to the Women’s Crisis and Family Outreach Center (WCFOC) in Castle Rock, Colorado. This community service opportunity was brought to our attention by the Colorado chapter of the American Society of Interior Designers (ASID), a professional association with which Source Four is very active.
WCFOC is dedicated to reducing domestic violence and family conflict through advocacy, empowerment, violence prevention and intervention, service and education. The Center provides programs and services to clients throughout the Denver region.
ASID’s multi-year service project, coordinated by designer Mimi Hillen of Hillen Design Associates, encompassed an upgrade of the WCFOC counseling spaces, including a new space plan to enable WCFOC to better utilize existing space, along with the construction of additional office and meeting spaces. Source Four collaborated with ASID and WCFOC to identify furnishings needs. We then cultivated donations from our manufacturers—notably, izzydesign and OFS—to contribute to the project’s success.
In 2007, WCFOC served more than 14,000 individuals, and sadly had to turn away nearly 50 families because their shelter was full. Today, WCFOC is better equipped than ever to fulfill the needs of individuals impacted by domestic violence. Source Four is proud to have played a part in helping WCFOC meet the demand for its vital services.
